Cubase on the cover of SOS, again!

Ok, so Brits and Germans are at peace, but hey, when is a good ol' American high-end product going get its due?  And I don't mean a spread at the back end.

    Due out today Colin.

There is a very good reason why Cubase and Logic get such treatment from SoS which if you need explaining then you do not read SoS very much.

Hmm, twelve pages plus the cover versus X2's five pages.  What a bummer.
As a loyal SOS reader of fifteen years I find it galling. Does the disparity reflect the number of users?  I wonder.

pretty much the user base.. cubase's is more than likely higher... who knows, maybe double+
= it's to do with the percentage of readers...

also the fact of the new version. I'm in 2 minds whether to upgrade tbh.. due to having folked out for 6.5 not so long ago.. if they are doing a ".5" system in these days and future, then still charging a quite high upgrade price.. they can keep it.. I'll wait for grace period update (not 100% sure they still sell the boxed update)... and well I decided I'll be buying a boxed update of sonar after last years not so exclusive "exclusive" . I don't have a lot of time for many pro audio's marketing departments, who I wouldn't dare play at poker.

Did anyone look at how sonar was rated in these publications amoungst all the other DAWs out there? Although subjective to a degree. If your rated 8th in the top ten-hypotheticlly. The focus will be more on the top five. Also, may go by the majority of people using whichever program(daw) whom read that publication. For instance, alot of the mags I read favor- logic, live, cubase. Because they rate higher with thier readership and also may be more popular in the music type the mag is geared toward.

Even more disturbing is that for the second month there is no SONAR techniques.

There is no Sonar tips article in the "Led Zeppelin" issue because there is a review of X2.  SOS usually skips the tips column in the issue that reviews the software.  If there is no tips column in Feb, that is really odd and disappointing.

I generally find SOS to be pretty balanced in its reviews and space allocation.

    Hey Fog,
I upgraded....some nice stuff, but still no multi-out synth track presets so using stuff like Superior Drummer is a PITA for me. *shrug* Guess that's why I use more than one DAW, right? Some apps do some stuff well, others do other stuff.

True, but there is still a tips article for Cubase and the review in Feb issue ?!?!?!?!?

NAMM is under way and no announcements regarding Sonar. If Cakewalk has nothing to say about their flagship why should we look to anyone else for news.
