Reminds me of early ZZ Top, nice groove. I like that solo, really quirky. Vocals seem a bit 'throwaway', perhaps that was intentional. Might work just as well as an instrumental, that section after the solo through to 3 mins is really nice.

The vocals are pretty good, gritty, emotional, but they are mixed lower than the guitars. I'd bring them to the front when the guy gets into it. I honestly spent the first minute plus wondering when the vocalist was finally going to arrive! I loved the groove! Definitely jammy funk rock. Well done! The bass was good as well, maybe a bit toppy in the mix, you can hear the ringy roundwounds and the song might stank a little better with some of the bass high end rolled off, and add a little more 100hz? Just another mix idea, like elbows, everyone has them - it sounds pretty good as is. cheers, -Tom

Groovalicious baby!! I thought this was going to be an instrumental as I anticipated the vocals coming in much earlier than they did. I did however enjoy this track, which sounds good even on the built-in speakers of my monitor.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As for the vocals, ever once is a while I have to let it out and get it off my chest. emeraldsoul The vocals are pretty good... ...The bass was good as well, maybe a bit toppy in the mix, you can hear the ringy roundwounds and the song might stank a little better with some of the bass high end rolled off, and add a little more 100hz? Thanks Tom for the nice comment. Re:Bass Strings..They do ring out in some spots, but in the overall hardly noticeable to me. I noticed it myself, when I eq'ed it. However, when I made the adjustment to cut the top end more, it sounded muddy to me and I wanted it to pop out more. Tediously I went back and forth with it until I gave up. Well anyway, thanks for the good advice and overall comment. I'll keep your suggestions in mind. pistolpete ... i liked the image.
I don't blame you. It's delicious! biodiode Groovalicious baby!! I thought this was going to be an instrumental as I anticipated the vocals coming in much earlier than they did. I did however enjoy this track, which sounds good even on the built-in speakers of my monitor.
Ha! Seems a few others had the same impression and thought the vocals would never arrive. I imagine the surprise when they did. Glad you enjoyed the musical desert!
