Cursor locked to the NOW Time

I have a similar issue. My cursor is locked to the NOW TIME tab at the top of the project. I cannot move the line without moving the now time. Videos show the two separate to mark a spot for the now time to stop, but I can't do that. I've tried all the options, etc. but just can't find the way to disconnect the two. Can anyone assist? I'm extremely frustrated!

    Toggle the Aim Assist line display with the x key.

    Thx, but I still can't lock the assist. Let's say I want the project to play from 1.0 to 3.0 and then continue when I press the space bar. Can't do it.

    Do you have Loop mode enabled?

    I'm not sure if this is connected the Aim Assiste/Now Time thing, but Ctrl+Spacebar will stop playback without rewinding to the previous starting point, if that's what you were referring to.

    No, I don't. That's still not whaI saw on the Groove 3 video but it may work
