DAW Builder in Australia (Adelaide?) Wanted

A Friend of mine has relocated to Adelaide in Australia a few years back and I am looking for someone reliable and trustworthy that could build him a new DAW and support his Sonar etc as 10 000 Mile remote support is difficult. Someone like Jim Roseberry but in OZ?

Windows 7 Professional  64 bit - Intel Q-9550 2.83 CPU, 8Gb DDR800, Gigabyte EP35-DS3R, M-Audio Delta 44, Yamaha HS-80M Monitors, UAD-1 Ultra Pack

I'm reading a book about anti-gravity at the moment and I just can't put it down

    Hiya Dan,
I've built a few DAWs over the years and been with Sonar for quite some time now. If your bud needs a hand, I'd be happy to help him out or hook him up with wholesale parts etc.

I'm in the south of Adelaide around the wine districts.

    Cheers.

Steve those guys appear to be in a different state.... I can't find an address on their web site which is a concern but the phone indicates a state other than South Oz.

Hadn't heard of them before so thanks for the share though.

    Cheers.

Yeah it's a big old country I guess.
Here is a list of shops in Adelaide http://www.adelaidecomputerstores.com/

Some shops can build systems to order or might know of people who do.

I'm from Melbourne and simply made a consult booking with Jim Roseberry, gave him a link to the stores that are close to me, gave him a budget and he told me what to buy. I then built it myself. It's easy as heck to build your own pc.

Unless you're completely clueless about computers, it's a pretty simple task. Plenty of YouTube vids out there and getting a quick consult from Jim makes life super easy. My computer is DEAD SILENT. Not a sound. It runs pretty solid. I think my Edirol is maybe on the way out or playing up a little, but that's nothing to do with the computer. If it suits, I'd certainly suggest giving this a shot.

@bobguitkiller... How are, ya? This is slightly off topic but user cliffr told me about a service that will accept and ship packages internationally from the US from stores and companies that otherwise don't ship internationally. I immediately thought of some of our previous conversations. It's not free but it might save you some cash. This is the service... http://www.myus.com/ The original link he posted would click through so if that link doesn't work just google them. Cheers.

Did you try any of the shops on my list  http://www.adelaidecomputerstores.com/  ?

If they don't build them them selves there's always a chance they'll know of people who do.

Another way, (and probably cheaper) is to go to a DAW builders site. Look at their machines, show their specs to someone who builds computers, they can source the parts and build it for you
for considerably less. As far as tweaking and configuring there really isn't very much that needs to be done with windows 7 compared to earlies versions of windows.
The first thing I do is change my user account settings and the other stuff I can't remember can be googled easily enough and is very easy to do.

    Just a thought.

Hey Dan if you have a spec you want, let me know and I can get a wholesale price list for you no probs. More than happy to give you a hand with the setup etc too if it helps you out.

I'm one of those weirdos who even has a Microsoft certificate so you are in <coff coff> safe hands.

Once you know your budget we can soon knock up what you could get or I can send you a spreadsheet to load components into to get pricing for spec etc.

Whatever helps Dan. MSY are also a great option for price.. sometimes VERY hard to beat but the support is 'one of those things'.

    Cheers!

I am a DAW builder but I find Computer stores don't generally have a clue. Maybe it's just on this continent. I know what he needs, I just can't supply it. I'm waiting for a response from Vin in Melbourne (Whose reputation precedes him), maybe he knows someone in Adelaide I can trust to do the Job properly.

I'll offer the same suggestion of getting Jim Roseberry to do a product list. He'll also provide you with a solid burn in and test routine so that it's done like the pro's do it.

I'm also in victoria so can offer some remote support (free) along with Mully.
