DPro Distortion with Q6600

Greetings all,

The distortion problem that I've characterized elsewhere also exists with DPro version 1.2 on my new Q6600 machine, just as I expected it would (and did not exist with version 1.1 --- same result as previous machine). Mobo: P532N-E SLI, 2 GB DDR2. The test I used was the same one as described elsewhere that is independent of the audio hardware.

I will not follow this thread (please PM me if desired). I just wanted everyone who was interested to know about this new finding. There was a very slim chance that the problem was dependent on some aspect of the CPU micro-architecture which changed somewhat dramatically since P4, so I went ahead and tested it.

I have not been following the other threads on this subject. If Cakewalk doesn't care about this problem, then I shouldn't either (but shame on them nonetheless).

Three machines out of three: P4/800, 'D', and now Q6600.

Regards,
Dave Clark
