DQOTD 2 mono = 1 stereo

I guess this isn't really so much a question as it is a request for better techniques.

I wanted to put both of my drum overheads into a single stereo track so I could play with the new(ish) LP EQ mentioned in the latest Sound on Sound magazine. I couldn't find a menu item for this so I set the output for OH-R to a new Aux track and set the output of OH-L to the same aux track. I panned OH-R 100% to the right and OH-L 100% to the left, armed the Aux track, soloed the 2 OH tracks, and hit record. The result was a single stereo track which sounds, to my ears, pretty darn good.

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks!
Cindy
