DSF Symphonic Strings VS Bundled X1 Sounds
I know we already have another DSF thread in the works, but it isn't addressing the quality of these sounds. So...
We have a very basic Studio Instruments Strings synth. Doesn't sound anything super special at all, but as a background pad in a song it can work alright. It's the only orchestral synth I have played with to date.
We also have the Garritan Pocket Orchestra stuff in Dimension Pro too.
Having a VERY limited experience in all things orchestral synth, what else am I going to be getting if I make the upgrade early and take out this DSF Symphonic Strings bundle? Is it similar to the Garritan bundle but with better sounds and/or more options?
At the moment if I use these orchestral strings sounds it's for background pads in music. So the realism and quality isn't super high in importance, yet. But I plan in the next few years to move more into film and would love to experiment with orchestral type compositions in the future. Would this be a great beginners quality pack? I don't expect it to match the big guys out there, but would it be generally a quite acceptable sound for the average public and my limited skills?
Anywho, I think you get the idea of my question. I'd love to hear some opinions on people more wise than me on this topic :) It is the deciding factor as to if I move to X2 now or wait till another sale pops up in 6 months time or whatever. I'm excited for X2, but in no rush at all. I just don't want to miss a good deal if it is really worth it for me.
