Dante Audio

Do any one use DanteAudio - Dante Via to bring audio from other pc/laptop to Sonar over ethernet?
Will Sonar accept this as additional Audio input when in ASIO?
Thanks

When using Dante there is a Dante ASIO driver available with the hardware.

There's no reason why Sonar shouldn't work.

    Hello Mike,
I think Dante ASIO Driver comes with Dante enabled devices/audio cards, I am not sure.
But Dante Via I read, will work on 2 Computers directly. {I am a bit confused}, Thinking to download and try out Demo.

I've just read up a bit about it. Wasn't even aware it was happening.

It seems like it should work with Sonar but you have to buy the software Dante Via, that allows you to aggregate all your software and devices.

Years ago when CPUs were slow and audio demands on a computer system were voracious, we had other software that allowed the networking of several computers to spread the load. I'm can't recall the name right now, but I'm sure someone will come along and tell me.

i have been using a lynx aurora 16 with dante and a Rednet PcieR card for the past week and it works like garbage with sonar. protools is fine. sonar has not figured it out yet nor will they return a support email i submitted. guess its protools for me after 17 years of using sonar. really unfortunate they cant even return an email. I can use Dante virtual Sound Card with sonar but The latency is not very good. The pcie card has way less latency but it chokes sonar up all the time.

Using Sonar what ? If you have an earlier version of Sonar your support has expired and they wont even reply.
