I think, you are thinking of 'Enslaving Ryan's Privates'.

    That was a rough movie!

I also like Band of Brothels.

Seriously, the interviews with the real guys adds such a sense of reality and humanity to the often-brutal action that those heroes went through.  I do really like Band of Brothers.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

I used to find it a good movie, but a tad long.
But since James Cameron, I have a different take on it...
I now find it compact and fast paced :D

Band of Brothers is a true masterpiece.

In the same cathegory I praise Clint Eastwoods The Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwojima, especially the latter ( and even Gran Torino has the same spirit). The way Eastwood grew up to be a creator of touching, exteremely wise yet still entertaining films makes me bow humbly.

I agree with you on Flags and Letters.  Somehow, I missed Gran Torino.  I'll make a point of watching it.
