Well, of course, before we had Session Eight we had Sample Vision which was only stereo. Did that precede 64 track PC? I would think so. But I can't remember anymore. Natch.

Since we are going way back Opcode’s Vision, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opcode_Systems

Studio Vision was the first midi sequencer that incorporated audio recording, i.e. the first DAW.

Gibson guitars bought Vision then dumped it completely.

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

Just like Russ at Pro Tools Expert (ewwwwww) fabricated the news that the team behind Logic had been decimated?

Anyway, unless Apple confirms that there won't be a Logic 10, every assumption is at least as unreliable as that possibly fabricated e-mail.

One might as well claim that aliens have taken over Roland and that that's why they've been firing all those people at Cakewalk, to replace them w/ E.T.s...

Fabricated mac user email much more likely than UFO invasion/Roland takeover.

p.s. Dead DAWs don't pronounce that the DAW is Dead, they just stop pronouncing

Voyetra Sequencer Plus Gold - absolute best MS DOS Sequencer.
Loved SPG.  Did a lot a work at that time working with Middle Eastern composers in my home studio recording all the MIDI tracks and perfecting the 'performances' then I would take my rig to a 24 track studio to bounce everything to tape and add acoustic instrumentation (vocals, hand drums, real strings, etc.).

For a short while used Voyetra's Digital Orchestrator Pro before finally switching to Cakewalk.

Add Voyetra's DOP to the list.

You know what? I'm curious to see 10, obviously, but, as a matter of fact, in no dire need to see the software itself upgraded. Version 9 was so far ahead of the curve when it was released that it still stands up to the competition almost 4 years later. I does pretty much all I need and does it at least as efficiently as any competitor could.

I guess that all that people see is that it's been so long, and it looks like it's been abandoned. Still, Logic 9 has had 11 updates, some pretty substantial ones like 64-bit support. The latest of those a couple of months ago. You'd think that if they really wanted to abandon it, they could have done it by now and stopped wasting resources updating it...
