Nope, none of the above (I have started a few threads already on this btw) I am just ranting as I have lost total creativity AGAIN today. Lots of people get Sonar APP crashes and then Sonar wont release the process no matter what you do, its a total creative killer. TBH I am fecking sick to the back teeth of seeing new features in X1 and X2 and not enough work going on under the hood ESPECIALLY on a 64 bit platform. I have been using Cakewalk for about 15 years and I have to say since X1 I have had nothing but NIGHTMARES in crashes that dont have a trend or add up and I'm bloody sick of it..... I love all the features and interface changes etc etc but whats the point of it all when it crashes randomly all the time? Please dont make me defect to a Mac and the dreaded PT...Please......... Sorry for the rant guys.

I've had this a few times... The quickest solution is "Ctrl + Alt + Del" Go to "processes" and END "SonarPDR.exe" You can then reload Sonar right away,... For some reason, when Sonar "dumps" it doesn't leave memory...

I'll bet that your problem is due to your Delta 1010 driver. Sonar X1 on its own is not that crash happy. The symptom of not being able to close down X1 is associated with M Audio drivers. Has been for a long time.

i have zero evidence this will work, just a spidy-sense: (similar to the software-based DEP controls) if your bios supports hardware-based DEP, try disabling it. if it's already disabled, try enabling it.

It's a known driver issue. M-audio and E-MU are two offenders. My main system does it as I suffer with a MIDISport, which is the offender on my system. My laptop doesn't do it because I don't have those drivers on it.
