Mark, thanks for giving this a second listen.  Actually, I'm now a little confused because all I did was boost the volume of the drums a tad, as well as the lead vocal.  Otherwise, all parameters stayed the same.  I wonder if it's the conversion in Soundclick.

Update:  OK, I just had a listen and decided that I should have boosted the bass gtr. a tad, as well.  Back to the drawing board.

All the best,
Lynn

I'm back with a new mix.  I boosted the bass guitar to compensate for the drums.  I appreciate all your help!

Lynn,

That's better.   The drums sounds better and the mix is more balanced than previously.  Bass may be just slightly hot now.  Not sure as I'm listening on my work computer and it is a little bass heavy.. best see what others think before pulling it back.

Thanks for the remix Lynn... Gives me an excuse to listen to this again.

Not that I should need an excuse, of course, but you know what it's like, trying to keep up with what everyone is up to

cheers

Very cool song Lynn! I really like your voice. It's great how your voice conveys the frustration of the subject matter. Very believable. Nice lyrics too! The music gives me the feeling of time just ticking away. I get the mental image of an old man sitting in a chair in the middle of a room, wondering where the time went. Mix sounds good here. Very nice job on this!

Hey Lynn, lots of comments on this one!  I didn't read all the way through.  just listened and commented.

very interesting the vocal treatment and then it went away in the verse...that grabbed my attention.  great production technique.

mix is good an clear, hat sounds really good, but it's panned on the right?  left handed drum set?

nice work all around.

Mark, thanks again for the extra listen.  You helped me with this.
Andy, thank you for taking the time, again, to listen.
Daryl, what can I say?
Bob, I appreciate your kind words and comments on my vocal.  It makes it all worthwhile.
Reece, I'm happy you got to hear this and take the time to respond.  As for the hihat, I always mix from the audience's perspective.  I've always panned my hihats fairly wide.

All the best,
Lynn

I don't recall exactly what the original version sounded like mix-wise, but I think I do prefer this one...  For lack of a better way of putting it perhaps it's a bit more cohesive.  I'm going to assume it's your drum n' bass remix.

Steve, thanks for listening again and your comments.  Yeah, I gave some love to the bass and drums which resulted in a better overall mix.  It sounds much better in my car, now.

All the best,
Lynn
