Delay on vox?

Hey all, I'm doing a metal project and so far so good but on one of our vocal lines I'm trying to find a extremly looooooong delay. I'm not sure if I can explain this in words without hearing it or me singing it to you the way I want to hear it but I'll give it a shot. Our singer yells "free me" and I want it to sound like "free me free me free me" ect as it decays. The problem is that I'm not sure what plugin to use or how to make the ones that I have do this the right way. Basically the Sonitus:fx Delay works fine but it decays to quickly so you only end up hearing "free me me me me" as it decays to nothing. Can anybody suggest how I should go about doing this effect or what plugin would be best suited for it? Thanks in advance guys and gals.

    Try this.

Select the brief section of the wave file with "free Me" on it - ALT and drag mouse - then copy that clip.

Paste it to several new tracks, overlapping - of course you'll have to nudge a bit to get the timing right. You can adjust the volume of each clip to suit. You can then also add any FX you want - reverb, delay, chorus of some permutation. Best to experiment. You can also for example have a lot of fun playing around with panning on the different clips.

This pic shows the idea (knocked up quickly, not too well)

That's good advice, but I am having a hard time imagining the situation in which the phrase 'free me' would be too long to be handled by the Sonitus delay which goes all the way up to 4 seconds. Set the tempo sync on manual and up at the top you can slide the delay length all the way up to 4000 milliseconds.

err...you can edit the Sonitus parameters and save your own preset you know?

Just increase the feedback time and you'll be sweet..................
