Delete marker - easiest way?
What is the easiest way to delete a marker in the track view? When I right click on a marker I don't see an option to delete it, and I would prefer not to pop up the Markers box, which is ugly and breaks my concentration when I'm editing on the fly.

If I remember right, the easiest way is to hold down the control key and then left click on the marker.

I've been meaning to look this up. I really wish DELETE was in the edit dialogue

Tripecac What is the easiest way to delete a marker in the track view?
Consider reading the documentation when you want to know how to do something, you'll get the answer MUCH faster than waiting for someone to reply to a forum post. It took me less than 10 seconds to type "Markers" in the Index, see "deleting" indented under it, and find what BobF found. If you need to delete lots of markers at once, though, I'd recommend a different technique.

Craig, how bout a hint to remove multiple markers at once? I've been doing a lot of copy/pasting in my work lately, and yes, going through individually works, just not quickly. @

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

You can select multiple markers for deletion in the Markers View.

The easiest way I know is via Marker view. Select with CTRL-clicks and press DEL

Or drag across the timeline, select Cut Special, and check only the Markers box.

I typically go in to markers view and press delete on the first one, then use the arrow key with one finger, the delete key with the other. I like Craig's idea though, never tried that before.

Very intuitive, the UI design has no knowledge on human computer interaction.
To delete marker you need to: - find documentation, nothing in the documentation - go to cakewalk docs website, and search, also nothing - google "remove marker", then you can get here, and find that alt-shift-F4 to open marker view.
Cakewalk need to learn from Microsoft Office to make things easier for users. No one should read documentation and go to search engine to find how to delete markers, TL;DR. The context menu should handle it.

At one time I'm sure you could left-click and hold on the marker and press the delete key but that doesn't seem to work now. The documentation says it does. Craig, with mucho respect for all you have done in this field and all I have learned from you over the years, I have to go with mudy on this one. Cakewalk/Bandlab put way too little energy into usability on a product that is so complex that usability design is way warranted. I did exactly the same thing as the OP did that you dissed - I went straight to Google "sonar professional delete marker" and came straight here. Why? Because generally it's faster than looking it up in the documentation, which is actually very good even though it is wrong on this feature. I didn't even know there was a Markers View. As a pro software engineer with decades of experience designing UIs, this sort of simple action can and should be very intuitive. Documentation should not even be necessary. So my 2¢, don't blame the messenger.
