Deleting Automation Lane in X2...

I am not sure if this is an intentional feature in automation lanes or not.  I create an automation lane(volume) for an audio track.  I then decide I do not want it.  I click the minus(-)  to delete the automation lane and it disappears.  However, I still see a faint automation marker in the background on my clip.  It seems to still be active.  I go ahead and re-create it by clicking plus(+) and it remembered my last volume automation.  I delete it again(using right click menu delete this time).  It deletes it, but it seems to still be active.  I tested placing the volume automation to lowest position, then delete it, then play my track and it is effectively muted(reading the automation).  However, my mixer slider is not following that automation and is supposedly at an audible volume.  No sound is heard.  I have to re-create the automation volume and set it audible in there, then delete it, and then I hear my clip.

As well, when I "Freeze" the clip, it extends way past the clip and is making it as long as the automation was originally(it is deleted).

I am confused what is going on here.  Any help is appreciated.  I know sonar quite well and I am not a newbie ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Deleting the automation lane does not delete the automation envelop. Check out the automation lanes video here http://www.cakewalk.com/C...ONARU.aspx/Get-Started

Removing the automation lane only removes the lane, not the automation envelope. To delete an envelope, right-click the envelope and choose Delete Envelope from the menu.

Thanks Scott - that's helpful info.
