Deleting Measures

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question - I'm just arranging a song and need to delete 4 measures between  a verse and bridge - so it's a global delete/remove i.e all tracks (hope my terminology is correct/clear)

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to do this (I've tried using the forum search tool but something seems to be wrong with it tonight)

Any help most welcome
Thanks
Ed

I think Delete Special from the Edit menu is what you are looking for.  Highlight the area on all tracks to be deleted.

Select what you want deleted from the options and click the delete hole.

Delete Hole has some issues. Better to make the hole (Select All and then drag in the timeline to select the range to be deleted), and then drag or Process > Slide the later material back to close it.

    Hi Wookie and all,
    Thanks for replying so quickly
I tried the advice but didn't work - not you but me I suspect -however I think that it forced me into individual track drag and drop etc - the drums were a bit of a pain but overall when you realise what your dealing with it's not too much of a drag(ha ha hope you get the pun)

Fortunately, it was only a quick demo that I was trying to get into shape but I suspect it does raise an issue that if your into serious recording and you wish to experiment with an arrangement you could be bogged down in a hell of a lot of drag and drop. Anyway, fortunately tonight the muse stayed with me - just about i.e. workflow.

However, if anyone has any tips and considerations of this issue they would be most welcome

My thanks again Wookie and all - have a hit one
    Best
    Ed
