Deleting notes in a midi track

Hello all,
 
does deleting a note in midi track work as described in documentation for Sonar X3, please?
 
When I try I get a message "the editing function is not allowed" (or something similar).
 
What am i doing wrong, please? Anyone?

    Sounds like the clip data is locked. Right click on it and deselect the lock option.

    Hey FBB..yeah, I had grouped a bunch of clips ..one had lock on..and that stopped the editing..cheers :)
