Delta 1010 vs the new Mackie Oynx Blackbird

Hi, i have a quick question and possibly some helpful info about the Delta 1010 and the Mackie Oynx
Blackbird interfaces.  First, thx in advance for any help offered; i hope some of this info might be helpful as well.
One thing i don't understand is that the blackbird's specs are such that it has some of the best converters around (cirrus logic)
and has the 'boutique' onyx preamps per 8 channel inserts. So why when the first time we heard our song project play back
- thru our yamaha HS80's - there was no low end?  The delta 1010 is like 10 yrs old and the blackbird has the great specs
and is newer technology. I turned up the bass response switch on the back of the monitors so it now sound as good as the
1010, but won't this mess up the way our mixes sound on the different systems out there since we're so 'used to'
to 1010?  Stupid question i know since it will indeed sound different.  I just hope i haven't made a bad purchase.
The blackbird's awesome, don't get me wrong. I just don't understand why with its specs, compared to the
1010's, why it sounds less 'full' than the 1010. Maybe it's wired in a inferior manner or something
cause it definitely has awesome converters and preamps. It also has tons of features.

Anyway, maybe this helps in some small way for anyone comptemplating buying a blackie..

Mackie didn't support their other interfaces very well and I would not expect them to start now.  On the other hand M-Audio one of the best for driver support.  The hardware is of no use without good drivers.
