Deprecated: New CAL Script: UNOVERLAP.CAL

This script becomes deprecated from the improved "CleanTrack.cal" script developed by sping

UNOVERLAP.CAL

 [Updated Sep 07, 2018]

v 1.01 - Fixed problem with long notes.

UNOVERLAP.CAL Removes note overlapping.

This script is similar to SINGLE.CAL, with the difference that this script removes overlaps in any POLIFONIC sequence.

If there is any overlap of notes with the same pitch, the previous note will be shortened so as not to "touch" the note after.

An additional shortening (in ticks) can be set by the user.

Since CAL scripts do not have arrays, the script is huge. But fast.

You can download the script at Github.

Thank you, I can see another use for this, I have a soft synth I use which sometimes is a little slow to respond to note off's the result is that when a second note of the same value is played it fails to respond.  I found that shortening the offending notes resolves the issue.  This will simplify resolving the problem with this synth.

I made a small correction in the script, which presented error in long notes.
I also moved the download to GitHub for easy versioning.

Re: New CAL Script: UNOVERLAP.CAL ! 2018/09/10 04:01:15 (permalink)
Thinking back, I thought there was a button for this. But, it turns out that the Trim Durations button just 'visually' shortens the notes so they don't overlap. Helps clean up notation, but the notes still play as recorded or entered.
Thanks!

Re: New CAL Script: UNOVERLAP.CAL ! 2018/09/10 07:24:16 (permalink)
Many, many thanks, this is going to be extremely useful to me!

Will it find and correct instances where a note exactly overlaps another? I sometimes get exact duplicates in a section, possibly because I've been copying and pasting MIDI clips.  I then have to spend ages testing deleting suspect notes.

In this case, you can use UNDUPE 2.CAL (my corrected version of UNDUPE.CAL).
