Detect tempo

Audio snap seems to do every thing except what I want. All I want it for Sonar to detect tempo from any or all clips and create the appropriate tempo changes for the whole project. Is this doable? Thanks for responses

    have you applied all the patches?..you need at least up to b for it to do what your asking.?

    have you checked out the videos on cakewalk university?..theres a great one on autosnap.
    are you changing your clips to transience in the track box and doing it that way with autosnap?
    i suggest you check out ..drum replacement on the sites videos as i mentioned above,i was able to learn alot from that and do exactly what your trying to do.
    not to mention replace kicks and snares with sampled ones

    Thanks for the up, I'll check out the University. I'm not interested in editing the tempo but only extracting it, from the whole song. I'm recording live with some real pros and don't want to change tempos and the like but I would like to add some midi orchestration to the project respecting measures, beats, and ticks and so forth.

    Don't know if this will work in X1 because I haven't tried it, but in 8.5.3 one way to extract tempo was to open the clip in the loop creation view, and click whichever button it was that allowed stretching. The original tempo of he clip was then displayed in the looping toolbar.

    I haven't used audio snap much, so there may be an easier way, but.... if the drum track has a fairly repetitive "2 & 4" type pattern, you could extract those to MIDI notes & then use the "fit improvisation" to create a tempo map.

    you can extract midi from audio or you can simply tap tempo during the audio and fine set the tempo then !
