Determining Bit Depth

Hello everyone. As you will see in the screenshots that accompany, I do not know how to do to tell Sonar the desired bit depth. In one of the captures it is seen that the possibility of modifying the "24", is disabled. In the other (Utilities / Change audio format) if I change and accept and reopen that window, it is seen that it has not changed.
This business has me confused.
I have a problem in the recording that causes "jumps" in the audio. If a thousand turns and I can not find a solution. Do not you have to see this question about bit depth?
I would appreciate any help. A greeting!
PS: I use the Google translator, since my language is Spanish, I clarify it in case there are inconsistencies of syntax or wording.

The "Audio Driver Bit Depth" setting in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings controls the value for incoming audio data. How SONAR detects available sound card settings depends on the driver mode. SONAR queries the driver on startup in ASIO mode. The other modes use data generated by Wave Profiler. It is not unusual for the "Audio Driver Bit Depth" drop down to be disabled in ASIO mode. Many ASIO drivers operate at a single bit depth.

"Record Bit Depth" setting in Preferences > File > Audio Data is shown in the transport modules and is the value used for new recording. This value defaults to 16 and does not change based on driver preferences or capabilities. To have projects record at a different setting the value must be changed manually. Changing the "Record Bit Depth" does not affect existing clips. Information about Preferences > File > Audio Data screen may be found here. This preference screen also control render and import bit depth.

Huge thanks Scook. Now I have a new question, but I'd better expose it to a new entry. It is rare that my Focusrite Saffire Liquid 56 does not accept the value of 24 (44100/24), which I believe is standard, right?
    A greeting!
