Sounds terrific, both the piano and the voice. You couldn't have captured them any better. And that reverb room on the vocal is absoluetly perfect for a rag. I missed the Sedalia (sp?) festival this year Sue, but I'll try and catch you the next time you're in St. Louis and drag a few bodies (dead or alive) with me.

    Howard:

I am a novice at recording, but I wanted to say that I can see, feel and hear that piano from one side of my head to the other in my headphones.

This mix is a good as anything I hear anywhere.

Thanks, Jeff. That's my wife Sue playing her new 7 foot Nordiska grand which I first found out about about over on the piano tech guild forum. Recorded with Sonar 4 but just remixed with Sonar 5 for release Feb 06.

Hi, Joe. I close mic'd the piano in our living room but recorded the vocal in a Maxwall booth after the fact. Then I made an Impulse Response of the room from the piano bench position using Voxengo's Deconvolver and loaded it into GS3's Gigapulse for vocal processing which I recorded into Sonar to its own tracks. Thanks for your feedback on that because I've never tried doing things this way before.

I'll let Sue respond about Sedalia.

Hope you can make it to Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, MO next year, Joe. For those unaware, I'm one of the Music Directors. And I really love my Nordiska... I've arranged to have 14 of them for the festival. But maybe I'll see you sooner at my masters class at the Scott Joplin House in St. Louis next March.
