Did Sonar X1b build 255 break ASIO interface with Zoom H2 USB Recorder?
Running:
1. Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 on 64-bit processors
2. Sonar Essential X1b build 255
3. Zoom H2 version 1.90, with 64-bit ASIO version 1.0.2, in 16 bit and 44100Hz format. (Note, Zoom will not let me use the 32-bit drivers of ASIO on a 64-bit system.)
4. M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496, driver version 6.0.5.15001
Under Preferences, Playback and Recording, Driver Mode = ASIO. I've checked 'Always Open All Devices'.
Under Preferences, Devices, the M-Audio Delta ASIO in's and out's are recognized. The Zoom H2 is not recognized.
If I change the Driver Mode = WDM/KS, run Wave Profiler, the Zoom H Series Audio devices is scanned twice: the first listing reports nothing is available and the 2nd listing shows 2 channels, 16 bits, 44100Hz and 48000Hz. Okay. The Devices panel now shows the Zoom H Series Audio Wave in and out. Okay.
If I open an Audio Track, select the Zoom H2 Stereo as an Input, set the Output to Master; and then set the Master's Output to the Delta Audiophile 2496, try to record: I get an error box telling me the output device cannot be opened.
The same thing happens with the Driver Modes WASAPI and MME. As I said before, the error box goes away if I use the Driver Mode ASIO, but I can't use the Zoom H2 in this mode, even with the Zoom's H2 ASIO driver loaded.
Am I doing something wrong? Is Sonar X1b build 255 incompatible with the Zoom H2 in ASIO mode?
On another issue, I've never been able to get Sonar X1 Essential to recognize the 24 bit, 9600Hz mode of the Audiophile 2496. Sonar reports:
'The default audio format is not compatible with one or more sound cards. It has been reset to 16 bit, 44100Hz (32 bit), as suggested by the driver.'
Any ideas why that may be happening?
Thanks All,
Stephen.
