Did They Remove X2 Updates?

I am updating X2 on my laptop and need the updates but I can't find them on the site, is this because of X3?

    Isn't the quickfix redundant?

Kind of. The "a" patch rolled in the Quickfix stuff but also introduced the Win8/touchscreen support which may or may not have introduced some new problems. It's one of those things if you were not experiencing any of the problems the "a" patch fixed but the "a" patch itself caused problems for you then having just the Quickfix (build 308) might be better for some users. I can't remember but I seem to recall that the Quickfix still supported Vista but the "a" patch was when they said Vista was totally out of the picture.

It was a funny release so to me I think being able to try either/or to troubleshoot specific problems on specific systems is a good option to have. When the Quickfix was out a majority of people were happy with the stability of X2. A small subsection of those same people ended up encountering problems once the "a" patch was released.

I know it may seem crazy to view things in this kind of micro managing way but to me... if one thing works better than another then I'll go with what works best. For my X2 install I'm on X2a and I think it solved a lot of problems for me but at the same time I sometimes contemplate trying out the Quickfix again... it would however be a PITA to rollback so I quickly shut down those fleeting thoughts.

It's all about options really and that's why I included it in my post. Perhaps I should have clarified but yes... there is no need to install the Quickfix if you are going to install the "a" patch.

    Sorry for the confusion.
