Did anyone notice the forums were down earlier?

Just wondering if it was only me.
Just curious
Pondering the situation.
Conspiracies and all.

They might have been trying to stop the blatant spammer we've had but, if so, it didn't work.  He's trashing the forums again!

Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

That theory might not be too far fetched.....considering all....

I thought it was my work PC doing some "site blocking" (although I didn't get any error messages).......but, AM glad to be back though.

Yes, I found out first this this morning that all of the Cakewalk site was down.

And now that it's up again, the spam continues. It would be interesting to know what this spammer is doing that makes it so hard for the CW mods to keep him out.

Ok then, So I guess my cake password etc wasn't stolen and used by these hackers to shut down cake cause I upgraded to Mavericks, which in turn forced me to download things I wasn't sure of, like Flash, and 'flip for mac'.

And then Skype didn't work. Heck, maybe they're staring at me right now as I type....??

Hi,

I gave up earlier this morning. It was obvious that something bad was going on.

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

They've apparently updated the software. It may help to flush your DNS cache if you get here via bookmarks in your browser. If you use hard-coded URLs, such as in a desktop shortcut or batch file, you'll have to change them.

I had Chrome configured to open the forums I visit most in tabs on startup, so I had to manually update the URLs to make them work. For example, http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=31 now must be http://forum.cakewalk.com/Coffee-House-f31.aspx.

I also sometimes open the Cakewalk forums from a desktop shortcut.  If you'd like to do that too, just save the following as a batch file and create a shortcut to it (these are just the ones I open by default):

StART http://forum.cakewalk.com/SONAR-X-Series-f57.aspx
START http://forum.cakewalk.com...cer-and-Studio-f5.aspx
START http://forum.cakewalk.com/Software-f39.aspx
START http://forum.cakewalk.com/Coffee-House-f31.aspx

Yes. Cakewalk forgot to pay their web hosting bill. Funny but that is exactly what it looked like. Usually the hosting company puts up advertisements during the grace period while they are waiting to get paid.

Yeah they screwed it up good.
Win8 with IE and flushing DNS doesn't do it.
Both the Win7 PC's are fine.
