It says that the pro channel module using ARA is a free upgrade if you already own the program.   Otherwise around $120.

Also, the link to the Cakewalk store in the email is broken (takes you to CleverBridge)

You can go to the store and click on ProChannel/FX to see it.

From the upcoming May eZine (which isn't out yet), and covers VocALign integration:

SONAR Platinum includes VocalSync, which is an inexpensive solution for those with relatively simple vocal synchronization needs. However it cannot be added to SONAR Professional or Artist, and is not designed for use with musical instruments (only vocals). For those with demanding vocal synchronization applications, VocALign represents the culmination of over two decades of experience refining the algorithms that provide the multifaceted analysis needed for tight, accurate synchronization.

The link is good only for the person with the account who accessed the page. Go to the Cakewalk store, then click on the ProChannel/FX category. FYI VocALign is NOT a ProChannel module, it's a Region FX.

Try the link I posted. It should work for anyone (at least it worked when I was logged out). Sharing store links is difficult. The recent changes to the store broke all the links I created in the forum since Cakewalk started using Cleverbridge. It would be nice if there were an easy way to create links to the store.

    OK...

    So once again I'm confused...

I have the Sonar Vocalign which came with Sonar... (Region FX)

I see no entry for it in My Products?

Is this a different version that is/was a plugin and is now being offerred as a PC module?

different product this is Vocal Align. We have Vocal Synch.
I believe it uses ILok authorizationThough. not so thrilled about that.
    But looks really cool.

To bad Cakewalk didn't offer a base version like they did with Melodyne, it would probably promote users to buy vocal align.

I have an iLok, but not 120.00 bucks right now it's what we call "mud season" here.
Between ski season and camping season where the snow melt makes for mud and it's slim pickins and quiet around here. But, I will try to scratch and claw up the fundage. Mortgage and stuff first though.

    Thanks Chuck...

I suspected something along thoe lines...

The "clever" product names get confused for me... :-)

Too pricey for me.... I would upgrade Melodyne first if I had the cash! ;-)

VocALign Project, which is on sale in the Cakewalk store for 20% off, is the base version. VocALign Pro is the more advanced (and pricier) version, although frankly, it has a lot of esoteric features that are probably not relevant to SONAR users unless they're doing complex dialog ADR.

for those in the EU, the 20% off basically takes away the additional VAT.
If only I could buy it VAT free somewhere......

They're very different programs. VocALign is more like VocalSync on steroids - it's about automatic matching of timings, not pitch correction and manual matching.

the ilok thing, it doesn't require a physical ilok dongle, you can just use install the ilok manager thingy, which some also object to, i use to be one of them but eventually gave in and have and have zero issues with it.

iLok 2 is waaaaaaay better than iLok one, but you do have to keep up with the license manager software.
