Different Session Drummer Issue
Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any advice? Sonar 8.3.1 (32 bit) If I load SD as one would normally do it and test using the play button or by clicking on any of the drums everything is fine. As soon as I route a MIDI drum track to it (and play the track), it stops working entirely. If I reload the PROG, it will work again as mentioned, but it goes silent as soon as I route (and play) the MIDI drum track to it again. Oddly, if I route the same track to the TTS-1, it works fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any insight.

How are you inserting Session Drummer? Simple Instrument Track? First Synth Audio Output? All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo or All Synth Audio Outputs: Mono?

I'm just creating an audio track, clicking in the effects bin, adding as a Soft Synth. Then I set the output of my MIDI channel to SD, and I set the output of the Audio track that has the SD enabled in the effects bin to a stereo driver pair. Does that help? I'm not much of a MIDI/Soft Synth guy, mostly audio. It works for my Native Instruments Piano and TTS to do it this way. I think I recall doing it this way in the past for SD, but I could definitely be mistaken. Thanks.

I haven't used SD in an FX bin before but following your setup it seems to work fine for me. Try doing it a different way and see if you have the same problem. Insert SD and in the synth options box select First Synth Audio Output. That will insert an audio track with the Synth as its input. Then route your midi track to that synth.

Thanks, but it doesn't work either. I even started a completely new project with nothing in it except for a MIDI drum pattern. I tried creating the synth setup this way, and the behavior is identical. All is good until I click play in the transport. The SD creates all the sounds of the kit that I load and will play and loop within itself using its buttons. If I drag its patterns into a track, it plays them fine. If I use a MIDI pattern that I created in staff view......it goes out to lunch. Thanks

Hi- I tried 10 first, then I tried moving it around to see if it helps. No changes.
Thanks though.

Maybe it's a staff view problem. Try using the PRV to create the drum part instead... see if that has any effect.
