Digital Audio Speeds up and slows down

I have started using Sonar X1 Producer D and have a strange issue. I made a simple audio track for a voiceover recording for a local production. We recorded the voice and I exported the track out to MPS using the MPS converter through Sonar. It sounds fine. I also dumped a copy of the file out in wav format to play with in Wavelab, it is dragging. It sounds juts a bit slow. When I opened the project up again and played back the recorded audio also sounded slow although I know that when I recorded it, it sounded fine. The existin MP3 still sound normal.. I am using an Intel I& with 24 gigs of RAM and dual SSD drives for data.. Any suggestions on settings or anything like that that I could be missing?

Thanks in advance..

Dave

What sample rate are you using? What soundcard?
