Dim Pro and Vista 64

Does anyone know if Dim Pro will work with Sonar 6.2 and Vista 64 bit. I'm looking to up-grade to Vista 64.
Thanks,
Barry

I don't know if they will work together; however, on Cakewalk's "Windows Vista Musicians' Resource Page" I see that most products that have been recently updated are included in the Vista compatibility list--but Dimension Pro 1.2 is not in that list. I speculate that Cakewalk may be working on another update to Dimension Pro to bring Vista compatibility.

Your best bet would be a direct call to Cakewalk for official confirmation. If you get an answer please re-post here and let us all know what you find out.

It worked when I tried it, but I haven't tried in a while.
    As a DXi, IIRC.

I just found a Cakewalk advertisement in the June 2007 issue of Electronic Musician Magazine and it has Dimension Pro 1.2 listed as being compatible with Vista--but there is no mention of 64 bit. Since there is testimony here that it works....I'll bet it works

I'm running Sonar 6.2.1 x64 in Vista 64. I have Dimension Pro installed and patched to 1.2. I find that the DXi version does not work at all. The VSTi version does, but only in bit-bridge. So, I guess you could say that Dim Pro is "kinda" compatible, but it certainly doesn't seem to be natively compatible.

That's good to know. Although I am running Vista 64, I am running Sonar 32-bit because of other plugs have problems with bit-bridge. And Dim Pro runs natively for me.

When you buy the standard boxed Vista, you get both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. If you purchase and OEM license with your hardware, you are locked into either 32-bit or 64-bit, as only one version is included on the OEM disk.

Actually, only Vista Ultimate comes with both 32 and 64 bit discs. You can order the 64-bit disc if needed for a nominal fee and the keycode from the box will work. Obviously, you need to have a 64-bit processor to use the 64-bit version; so in a manner of speaking, it does matter what PC you want to run it on.
