Dimension LE Break Tutorial
ok, I have cobbled something together very quickly. Hopefully it isn't total rubbish! There is a word doc, P5 file and a rex file (the break) included in the zip. If you open then P5 file you might get a problem with Dimension not finding the break and you may need to reload the rex - hopefully the midi pattern should still work though. Get it from here - http://www.sendspace.com/file/nit8rl Any questions fire away. Cheers Rich

Cool, thanks for the link, I will definitely snap those up. These sort of drums work perfectly for the type of music I am liking/trying to make at the moment. I find it really difficult to make good grooving drums by using individual drum samples. It always sounds very metronomic and very dull! If you want to hear some good examples of tracks that use these style of beats check out Alaska/Paradox - Isolationist. Now I am sure they don't do things the same way, and they are much better at it than I am but you will here what I am going for. I just had a listen, very nice ambient drum and bass, i see were your going not putting any bass in, i liked the top end of it were there playing around with the cymbals sounds pretty organic if thats the right word. I tried to have another listen too your track but could access it to have a compare but never mind.

Yeah it is only rex files. They work like that as they are really just sliced wavs with a midi file attached. The midi file gets dropped on to the track when you drag n drop.

Thanks for posting this, I didn't know that Dimension could load rex files. I've got a lot of these on various freebie samples I can now use. Nice one!
