Dimension Pro Free Exp Packs go to C drive?

Was wondering if it's ok to leave my Dimenstion Pro Multisample folder that was created by the Free Expansion Packs on my C: drive.

I would have liked to point it to my Sample drive, where my other Dimension Pro Multisample folder is, but it just won't go.

Back in the old days I was taught never to have my samples on my boot drive and was thinking since tech support just told me it's OK, that it's different now because of computer speeds and such.

Thanks.

I run all my native samples off the C: drive.  I let the program put them where they expect to see them and have never had a problem.  My C: drive is pretty big, so no problem there and no computer these days should have a problem loading synth samples.  If it is streaming samples - that could be different.  DimPro doesn't.

I do put third party SFZ, samples, loops on my second drive, along with backups of projects.  I have a 3rd drive for working projects.  Sonar can save the audio loops w/ project so they don't get unattached.

    Thanks.

I have a sample only drive that I backup regularly, and I was thinking that if I tweak an Expansion Pack instrument in DP, and that sample is on my boot drive, should I have a drive failure, those instrument changes would be lost unless in backed up the c: drive samples. So, I guess it's more of a convenience thing for me to have all the samples stored in one place.

It is a little more work, but I save all my rar and other downloaded files on my back up drive (and a portable one, too!).  Then it is pretty easy to just reload them if necessary.  And since I use defaults, I don't have to think about it, neither.

Also, anything bought from Cake (or Camel, etc) you can download from the internet store/account again, if need be.  Or have the hard copy disk if you went that route.

Just move all the sample files to the main dimension samples folder.
