Dimension Pro Installtion.
So I decided to install 8.5.3 on my wife's laptop. I ran the 8.5 installer, and the 8.52 & 8.5.3 updates, followed by the Dim Pro 1.2 & 1.5 updates. Dimension Pro 1.5 now appears as a stand alone app on my desktop. But, no matter what I do, I can't get the 1.5 version to appear as a vsti in Sonar. Yes I've scanned the location of the dll, but only 1.2 gets loaded. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? Thanks, Jonesey.

Check the version of your DP dll - also check that the 1.5 dll got installed into the correct place and that its the one being scanned. You may have to manually replace the 1.2 dll with the 1.5 .dll. I couldn't make the update happen for love nor money and ended up uninstalling DP 1.2 and reinstalling 1.5 from scratch rather than updating it. I even went through the registry and deleted everything connected to Dim pro before the fresh install of 1.5

Thanks for replying Mike. I think I might have to go down the same route. Why on EARTH is the Dim Pro install so bloody complicated??????

Don't know. It's a mongrel for sure. I really only installed it because I actually bought it before it was bundled. I was determined to have it on my system seeing as I paid for it. but really I have such a glut when it comes to samplers instruments and sounds that I don't really need it.

The one redeeming feature it does have are of course the superb sounds you can coax from it. It's my goto vsti for most things.

With the sample problems earlier on I stopped using it. In the meantime my gear lust ensured I got more and more plugins.

Mike, just to let you know. I have just this evening completely removed all trace of 8.5.3 from the laptop - cleared out the registry and loaded up X1 and Dimension Pro. Even without patching to X1A or B, X1 is running like a dream on the laptop and DP 1.5 was instantly recognised. And this is on a bloody Realtek sound chip! I suspect 64 bit may indeed be the difference in performance, even though I only installed the 32 Bit version. Now back to the main DAW <doh>
