Dimension Pro XP Pro (32) No multisamples folder - why?

Dimension Pro XP Pro (32) No multisamples folder - why?

I have installed Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition on my Dell dual-core Windows 7(32-bit) laptop, along with Dimension Pro.
 
I was expecting to see a folder within C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro that was called multisamples.
 
Is there something wrong here?

    There is NO multisamples folder ANYWHERE on my hard drive, for Dimension Pro.

    Please help me figure out why.

    turn on hidden files, I think.  In vista Cake moved (as per MS specs) the file to C:program data/Cake/etc.  However, the programs still are in program files.  Funky.

    Wow!  I had a major senior moment.  I am running Windows 7 on this machine, and NOT XP.
     
    I have hidden files displayed, and have hunted throughout Application Data - no Multisamples folder anywhere.
     
    Sorry for the confusion on XP Pro - I have worked on so many laptops (I am a programmer) lately that they are all a blur.
     
    Anyways, I have the Sonar 8 Producer Edition discs, and wonder if I lost one.  Were there TWO discs needed to install Dimension Pro?

    yea, it is hard to keep up w/ all the tricks.

    I'm pretty sure DimPro comes on 1 disk - I've got SONAR disks stashed in a different location but I'll have a look see.

    In Vista 32 I find multisamples in C:Program files>Cake>DimPro>Multisamples.  Check there after hidden files are turned on.   Sorry I had you looking in Data.

    Good new indeed on the concept of Dimension Pro living on 1 install disc.  I was a bit concerned.
     
    Now for the bad news.  I have the option to show hidden files and folders turned on, and STILL have NO matches on any folder called 'Multisamples'.
     
    So, if the premise of Dimension Pro living on 1 install disc is true, and since the Dimension Pro Multisamples folder does not live anywhere on my HD, perhaps there is some kind of installation option I either fat-fingered or otherwise missed?

    I'd go for a reinstall.  Dimpro on my 8.5 disks is one, 8 gig DVD.

    there is an "additional content" DVD, too.

    YOu should be able to do a custom install of Dimpro from the 1st SONAR disk.

    start sonar.. start dim pro.. if you can load up patches.. they exist.. BUT try to load one or save from the ICON and not the patch browser.. and hopefully  it'll show you the path.. it MIGHT be in "libraries" but it'll show the path

    I originally found it with rapture and picses pack when I installed that on vista and of course when I was messing with muz3um...

    Fog makes a good point - if it loads programs it is on your hard drive.

    I was gone for a lengthy performance today and will set my rig up momentarily and try your suggestions.  I just haven't tried the software since upgrading my OS (clean install) from XP Pro to Win 7, on a 32-bit machine running dual-core with 4GB.
     
    I will post my results as soon as I give it a shot.

    If DimPro is working on the machine then can use the regedit.exe tool to look up the Multisamples key for DimPro to see what path is configured.

    Well, I'm an idiot.  Yes, the regedit key value for Multisamples in Dimension Pro pointed to a folder in C:\Cakewalk Content\etc.....
     
    There is a folder called Multisamples there, and it is fully populated.
     
    I cannot explain why this location is different than the locations I have seen on the web, or the locations that you guys have given me, nor can I explain why Windows Search did not locate the Multisamples folder.
     
    In any case, though it is in a different spot, the Multisamples are indeed present.  I hadn't used Dimension Pro yet under my new Win 7 configuration, but had been contemplating picking up the DimPro Proteus Expansion Pack collection, since Emulator X2 didn't seem to like Win7, and the entire collection of EMU Packs I already own won't install - from what I can see - and Though I have tried Proteus VX, it has too many limitations to be viable for me.  So, part of my research involved looking at the installation of the DimPro Proteus Pack and web info points to utilization of the multisamples folder - or at least it being present on the target system.

    Weird, Bob,

    maybe it is a windows 7 thing.  Or maybe that's where the included SONAR 8 dimpro gets put (I already had stand alone DimPro).

    Anyway, glad you found it.  Any additional samples/packs should go there, too.
