Dimension Pro in Platinum, won't accept reg code

As part of my platinum install a while back I installed Dimension Pro, as I have with every Sonar update over the years.   When I've come to open Dim Pro in a project for the first time after the install, I get the registration pane as expected.    However, the serial number on this pane is from an older download of Dim Pro (from 2012, not even the most recent before this) and is greyed out and unchangeable.  It is not the serial number of the latest version in command centre.  The pane will not accept the registration code - either the one from that original download or the latest one.

I've just reinstalled dim Pro from command centre, problem is still there.  Any advice gratefully received.

SONAR Platinum rolling updates:  Intel i7 2600k on Gigabyte P67A UD 7: 16GB RAM:  W7 x64 Home Premium.

I had this happen as well.

First, run the dim pro stand alone program (not inside Sonar) as an administrator.

Then just match up the serial in the pop up box with one of the versions showing in your "My Products" page.
Make sure the serial and reg are from the same version.  I had 3 different Dim Pros from 3 different Sonar versions.

then just add that reg. code and you are good.  Close the stand alone Dim pro and try it in Sonar

It should work.  Now you can open in Sonar and everything is hunky-dory.

You can do this in SONAR as well provided you run SONAR as admin.

I actually tried it within Sonar with no luck.  Then I came across this in the FAQ, which mentions both will work, but I only got it to work by running the Dim Pro program outside of sonar first. At least one of them should work....

If you have installed Dimension Pro 1.5, you may receive an "Invalid Registration Code" despite entering the correct code. This can be remedied by launching Dimension Pro with administrative privileges. To launch Dimension Pro with administrative privileges, simply right-click on the Dimension Pro micro-host and select "Run as Administrator". (Windows Vista and Windows 7 only)

NOTE: SONAR users can also launch SONAR with Administrative Privileges by right-clicking on the SONAR icon and selecting "Run as Administrator". Afterwards, create a project and insert Dimension Pro as a soft synth to bring up the registration dialog.

If you have deleted the shortcut to launch the Dimension Pro micro-host, you can find the Dimension Pro application by navigating to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro or C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro and locating Dimension Pro.exe or Dimension Pro x64.exe

NOTE: if you installed Dimension Pro to a custom location, the micro-host should be located in the same folder as where you installed the VST version of Dimension Pro.

Once entering your registration code you should receive a message that the code was accepted. If the above does not resolve your issue with registering Dimension Pro or if you need to obtain a registration code, please contact Customer Service.

Thanks sven450. I had the same problem and your post solved the issue.

I did have to use an older serial number from a previous install, so Command Center is listing a different serial number & reg than what I'm using. Same for Melodyne. CCC is listing Melodyne Essential, although I upgraded to Editor. No complaints in Platinum though...everything is activated and stable.

Apologies for not coming back on my original post, have not been able to log on much or try the solution.   However, it seems to have worked.  Thanks to all for advice, much appreciated.

Just had the same issue. The solution above has worked for me in the past, but not this time. Pasted the new serial number in the install. passed the matching activation code after running the microhost as administration. No luck.

There is a difference between having a Windows user that is of type Administrator, and running a program with the explicit option Run As Administrator.

You need to launch either Sonar or Dim Pro, by right-clicking on the launch icon, then clicking on Run As Administrator.  That will give the proper privileges for completing the Dim Pro registration process.

(assuming your registration code is the right one for the serial number present)

You would think that Sonar would want to have a more elegant solution that the one outlined above.
