Dimension Pro install problem.

Hello,

Today, I just got a Dimension Pro and I'm trying install it....
But when I double-clicked "Dimension Pro Installer" icon and then,
it'll be coming Lisence, and then selecting install drive, and then....

I just got a message.

Invalid Serial Number.
Please enter the Sirial Number again.

What...!? I couldn't see any chance to type the Serial Number.
Does anyone know how can I input the Serial Number? and when can I....
I found my serial number at back the DVD case.

I already sent message to Cakewalk support, but it seems only my problem
because nobody post yet here like my problem.

My system is,
PowerMac G5 / 4GB RAM / available over 200GB disk space with OSX Panther 10.3.9.
Of course, I have a DVD-Drive and can mount the install DVD. (I can see Installer program icon)

This time, I'm very first time to try using Cakewalk product....
I have no idea how can I install Dimension Pro...

Thank you...

Please make sure you are logged into your administrator account on your computer before installing Dimension Pro.

Also, try installing to your root Hard Drive (Mac HD), if you were attempting to install to second partition or external.

The Installer will ask for your serial number immediately after the Installation Type Dialog.

The installer dialog order should look like this:

License Agreement // Destination // Installation Type // Serial Number // Install

Thank you very much for the reply.

I always login as Admin. Actually when I launch the installer app, I input admin password.
Also, I tried to install Primary(root) HDD and Secondary both...

    In case of mine....
License Agreement -> OK // Destination -> OK // Installation Type -> OK // Serial Number -> ERROR!...

Hmmmm..... Maybe.... I need to up grade OSX Tiger!?!?

If you haven't already, contact Tech Support, and explain the problem you are having with your media.

I already sent message to tech support yesterday...

In general, I believe that all plugins perform better on Tiger, including Dimension Pro. (my 2cents)

But on the box, the System Requirements is 10.3.9 and recommend 10.4...
So I think my system version is fine... I know the Tiger is better now but
I'm using Tiger with another my Mac and I'm getting many glitch any software.
I still am wanting to use 10.3.9 for music environment.

Well... does anyone still use 10.3.9 and installing successful Dimension Pro?
No one here?? I just got big headache...

By the way, I had to instsall many plugins on my Mac such as Universal Audio,
IK multimedia, Steinberg, Emagic, reFX, Gforce... and more. and all of plugin
is working very fine. I got problem only this time to install first Cakewalk product.

I think I should prepare to garbage this software.... or return this to store
but it's necessary to pay some extra fee for re-stock....

I almost give up to install Dimension... I'll look for another software....

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Today, I tried to fix file permissions of my system HDD and secondary HDD both with Disk Utility.
It all fixed. and tried to install Dimension Pro again... But still can't install it...

Well... is it possible to install Dimension Pro withOUT installer program?
For example just copy from DVD... If possible, I will try it.

And still can't get reply from Cakewalk tech support....

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Today I finally installed the Dimension Pro!! Wow!
I think I should report what I did.

My Mac is sold in USA and I bought it.
But you know the Mac OSX can change language environment.
And I'm using in Japanese lang.

    The solution is....
I tried to back to English environment on "System Preferences" of OSX.
And I logged out once and then I logged on again (not necessary reboot).

And tried to install the Dimension Pro.....
OMG I could input SERIAL NUMBER finally!!!
I think I can back to Japanese lang environment when installation is done.
(Actually the installer is working on background now! so I'll try this after completed)

But I never had like this problem. Everytimes I could install any softwares...

OK, so for NOT english native people (like me),
If you want to install Dimension Pro(Maybe only Mac?),
you have to back to English environment before.

But I'd like to say... Cakewalk doesn't realize this problem.
And the support replying is not supreme fast.
Because it's assumption of all customer is using English environment...

I hope you check the software on many language environemt such as
    Japanese, Chinese, Germany, French, Spanish...
Because you are the one of world software maker!

Anyway, thank you very much and I'll have fun with Dimension Pro soon.
    (Yeah still installing on background)

Once it's installed, you may want to leave it in English until you've launched DimPro the first time and entered the authorization key. It's not machine-dependent, but it is another one-time dialog box you'll have to respond to.

I received Dimension Pro today and, like others, I can't install it.

    I get the

    "Invalid Serial Number.
Please enter the Serial Number again."

I've tried checking my hard drive (no partitions) and checking the disk as well as the disk permissions. Everything is fine.

I also tried setting my system preferences to recognize only English similar (?I guess?) to what Hide did.

I still get the same serial number message.

I was on the phone (after being on hold for about 30 minutes) with a tech person earlier today who called me back with information that didn't help.

    I'm waiting for him to call back again . . . and I'm still waiting . . . and I'm still waiting.

    . . . and I spent over $200.00 for this program.

Hmmm. . . . I own more software than most (I'm a junkie) but have never had this type of problem before.

It looks like I'll just have to forget Dimension Pro. No one seems to want to help.

    P.S.

I don't know if this will do any good, but why not?

    I have an iMac G5, 768 MB RAM, 2.8 GHz, OS X 10.4.8

RE: Dimension Pro install problem--OH MY GOD 2006/12/06 15:24:08 (permalink)
After having made all the changes mentioned in my earlier posts, I decided, just for the fun of it, to UNinstall Dimension Pro.

I noticed that the uninstall program was deleting a lot of files.

So. . . . I reinstalled, it accepted my serial number, and now it's installing.

    Wonder of wonders!
