Dimension Pro & live performance?

Since I already own SONAR should I try using it as a host for generating audio from Dimension Pro VSTi plugins in a live performance setting? 
 
Or given the unnecessary overhead of having a full-fledged DAW sitting in memory, should I get a host app dedicated to live performance - with functionality like fast plugin switching - and if so, how to pick one from the hundreds out there?

Hi techead. In an infinite universe, that's exactly what I would do. But frankly, I don't have a lot of bandwidth.
 
The whole point of forums like this one is to facilitate knowledge sharing, so that we all don't have to reinvent every wheel.
 
With all due respect, I'm hoping to hear from someone that can share their experience and offer some recommendations.
