Dimension Pro

After installing Sonar X1 and Dimension Pro I found that all my projects saved with Sonar 8 do not recognize the tracks assigned to Dimension Pro. I did the rescan thin but it still does not recognize DP. Also can I have Sonar 8 and Sonar X1 installed at the same time? I'd like to keep 8 around until I get used to X1.

The reason this is happening is that in 8, you are more than likely using Dimension LE, rather then Pro.  The drive path is different between the two.

I have my machine torn apart at the moment (switching to a new workstation today!) so I cant check, but I believe if you just add Dimension Pro to the synth rack, and then point your track to it, it will play fine again... no need to re-program.

Cakewalk has also discontinued the DX version of Dim Pro and gone strictly vst with the 1.5 version. It's possible your project is looking for the DX version and not finding it.

    Thanks for the responses guys,

I am using Dimension Pro 1.2 (not lite). Even if I start a new project it still doesn't know where DP is. Do either of you know if I can have Sonar 8 and X1 installed at the same time?

Yes you can. I have this machine with 8.5 (32 bit) and X1 (64 bit). They play nice. As for Dim Pro, you should be able to get the 1.5 update from Cakewalk's web site.
