Dimension Pro question
All of a sudden, when I open a project with DP in it, I get a message that Sonar can't find DP. I have to rescan my VST's in order to get Sonar to play back my DP tracks although DP is listed in my VST instruments. This just started happening about a week ago, and I haven't done anything or made any changes to Sonar except add Melodyne essential to the list. Is this the reason? Does anybody else have this conflict? Any suggestions how I can stop this behavior? All replies will be appreciated.

I have melodyne essential in the menu and no issues with Dim Pro. I would check the path in the register and sample locations etc.

you can try running as administrator ??? and if that works, just right click on sonar shortcut, go to properties, and under the compatibility tab, check the box for run as admim, hope this helps !!!

Thanks for your replies. I do run as administrator, and my path is correct. Like I said, this just started happening. I had no problems just a week ago. I've also had a problem with Vintage Channel opening up. I may have to enable "scan VST's on startup" though that doesn't thrill me because it takes long enough to open up anyway. Any other ideas?

Well at least upgrade to X1C (and please state in signature if you are running 32 bit Sonar or 64 bit Sonar).

Try uninstalling Melodyne Essential - rule it out. Weird things sometimes do happen.

It could be a system issue, possibly a corrupt file. It's a long shot but running something like CCleaner to remove junk and defragment your drive may help.

Sorry I beg to differ, if there was a corrupt file you would know about it (it would come up with an error, hopefully stating the corrupt file name), running cc-cleaner or defragging won't work, all that may do is improve performance. You could try scanning your hard drive for errors via scandisk (unlikely though this will solve anything, but it may bring up some more serious issues you should know about). There's a small possibility that there's an invalid registry entry, or a filename conflict (i.e. DLL overwritten).... that's a touch cookie to crack, but one way to find this out is to uninstall your previous software and then do a repair on X1 (if necessary). You could also try rolling back to last restore points (as a last resort).
