Dimension Pro x64 1.5 Crashing on certain patches

Upgraded to X1 from 8.5... followed all the bouncing balls listed on the instructions page, including updating my Dimension Pro 1.2 (32) to 1.5.  All seemed to go well until I started playing around with Dimension Pro. When clicking on some patches (mainly in the "Musical Grooves" the Dim Pro browser freezes and takes SONAR with it. Nothing to do but reboot the system. Other "non-sequencing" patches seem to work fine.

I figured it was SONAR's problem, but when I loaded the standalone version of Dimension Pro 1.5, I got the same instances of freezes, only this time, I could "close program" and launch again without rebooting the whole system.

So, I'm thinking it has something to do with old Dim Pro 1,2 patches that were brought into Dim Pro 1.5 when I upgraded.

I did a search on this and found a few instances of problems with Dim Pro x64 1.5, but they were a while ago... no recent complaints.

A work around/quick fix was mentioned in a couple of these threads that seemed to work. I will try that tonight and see if it works (a setting in the midi section of the Dim Pro interface.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I really do love X1, but love my Dimension Pro too.

Thanks.

I'm narrowing it down to a few offending patches, all in the Drums and Musical Grooves section.

Have you got any other Soft Synths running as well as DPro?

My Dpro (64 bit tho) crashes when I have any Komplete instances running (Absynth, Kontakt etc)....

I have narrowed this down to Bitbridge and changed over to JBridge which so far seems to work....(ish)

Doesnt help you tho....Just thought I'd share....

Thanks for the input, but my problem is happening both in SONAR and in standalone where there's nothing else running except Dim Pro.

    Thanks again for responding,

I had the same problem. The drum and musical groove patches in DP 1.5 crashed Sonar every time. When I contacted tech support they told me it's very rare but that they have seen this before with custom built computers, which mine is. The work around is to copy the patches/grooves into Dimension LE's program folder and use them in DP/LE.

Thanks for the reply. My computer is an off-the-shelf Dell. I'll have to look around, but it looks as though I only have one version of Dim Pro available in SONAR... it's the x64 1.5 version that I upgraded to after upgrading to X1 from 8.5. I do see multiple directories for Dim Pro, but only one interface is available when I "insert synth".

I guess I'll try contacting support... or just not use the drum/musical grooves.

    Thanks again

    Peace,
    Rob
