DirectShow Error 0x8004022A

I'm doing final mixing for a customer. They brought a new wav that I imported into the existing project. After doing some splitting and adjusting, I attempted to bounce to clip, and I got the error in the subject line. I also attempted to delete what this wav punched out, and it wouldn't play any more. Period. Nothing would play. I'd never seen anything like it, and I didn't get anywhere in a general google search of here in this forum. The only way to 'fix' the issue was to disable the Sonitus Compressor from the track's plugin bay. Then, everything would play, and I could bounce the imported wav to a clip. Very weird. I guess this is more for info-only, unless someone can explain it....

Over and out

that is odd about it working without sonitus!  normally a directshow problem is due to lack of a particular codec on your system for the wave file that you're trying to use.  for example you might have a 96k/24bit wave file which is normally used for DVD audio and your computer doesn't have the codec for that type of wave file to be used.

deleting sonitus, however, is odd and I dont' know!

I'll see your disabling Sonitus Compressor and raise you deleting Cakewalk Compressor/gate. I had the exact same issue and saw your post on the subject. I was using Cakewalk Compressor and tried disabling it. That didn't work. Deleting it did. Thanks woodenmusic for posting, probably saved me a lot of wasted time, curse words and more gray hair.

I had a very similar problem with one of my tracks and managed (by luck!) to resolve it by switching the track interleave option from Mono to Stereo. The source track is mono but I think the effects I had (Cakewalk Mulitvoice Chorus and Overload TH2 Producer) give a stereo output.

Thanks for the posts above - nice to know your not alone!

THX for the tip, RAB!  Had the same problem, deleted the multivoice chorus from the track and was able to bounce to clip.
