Disable X2 view management (an X2 newby question)
As a long time Producer user who has jumped to the Dark Side (X2), I would REALLY like to manage my own view windows for the short term, until I have time to learn the ways of the New Order. Where do I go to make the Console view, Track view, and any opened Piano Roll view windows behave in the same manner as PE8.5.3? ADVthanksANCE -Jack

I'd take a look at the videos at Cakewalk University. There are some such as Getting Started that deal with View management and there is at least one that hightlights the move to the 'X' series. Regards,
Mike Win8(64), Sonar X3e(64) w/ RME Fireface UFX.

You're welcome. Right....forgot about the Enable Floating option! I haven't used that in a while, but Im glad you got that sorted. No harm in using that until you are fully assimilated into the X.

Actually the way X2 handles views is not that different from the way Sonar 8.5 did. You can dock a view, you can float a view, you can maximize a view and so on. What X2 brings to the table is a more robust docking that also can be floated to another monitor. As well as simpler keyboard shortcuts. Screen sets will also help with all this. I recommend reading the manual and becoming familiar with how things are done in X2. Jack what you have done is start out with a faulty premise. That the view features in X2 are troublesome when in fact they logical extensions of the way Sonar 8 worked.

Skylight in the X series is awesome and all you need to do is remember the shortcut keys.
