Disable all effects?

Is there a command to easily bypass all EQ and FX for all tracks? For example, if you want to listen to a completely dry mix, rather than having to disable FX and EQ's for each individual track--I'd like to just turn everything off at once.

You can disable them all by disabling one, they're monkey see-monkey do. Ctrl-A to select all tracks then disable one FX bin through its context menu.

Are you sure about this Richard? I've tried it a couple of times, and it only disables the bin that I clicked on, even though all tracks were selected.

I see what it's doing, if you disable using the FX bin context menu, it's limited, but if you disable using the track pane context menu, they all get bypassed.

    Big difference, thanks Mick!

    edit) richard reply faster)

    that's work,(Richard) is right on,

just dont click under an FX BIN,just right-click (anyware under a track),
then it will bypass all Fx tracks.

Wow - that does work! Thanks!
(too bad it doesn't also bypass bins in buses)

No while mixing for example , put a transient shaper and then your latency will jump !!!if you want to play a part with midi vst i 's it's gonna be carzy , if ya disable i don't know if it kill this latency , especially for the external dsp 's (SSL Duende , UAD ...)

Yes, it works like a charm here on S8.3! A nice unexpected bonus is that when you disable UAD2 FX the DSP gets automatically off loaded from the card, as well. Why do I mention this? Because according to UA this is not supposed to happen with the UAD2 cards at all. The DSP is supposed to stay loaded at all times which it does in REAPER. So I was quite surprised and elated to find that SONAR will do what UA presumably says can't be done. Off load the DSP & native CPU load!

    NICE!

Zo, what you want to do is use another fantastic new feature in S8.3:

Live input plug-in delay compensation (PDC) override
Delay compensation can now be disabled on live tracks during playback/recording to reduce latency

The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl + D to toggle this on/off. You will see a colored D at the bottom of SONAR's taskbar to indicate it is active. Before if you were using PDC FX (like the notoriously latent Precision Multiband)
anywhere in your project and then tried to IM a track (whether using an ampsim on an audio track or a softsynth on a MIDI track) the track would always be delayed. For those that have experienced this you know what I mean. Now Live input plug-in delay compensation (PDC) override comes to the rescue. Enable it and now your IM track is back in sync with the rest of your project. Record your track and then Ctrl + D to toggle it back off. Just remember to always turn it off when you are not actively using it as it will mess with your renders/exports. Also, it's state is persisant. IOW, if you have it enabled when you close a project and then close/re-open SONAR it will still be enabled until you disable it. I also read that it is recommended that the track (or tracks) that you are IM'ing need to be going straight to a master bus or hardware out for it to work correctly. This has become one of my favorite SONAR 8 features.

I have been testing it on some UAD mixes (lots of PDC plugins) using IM (both MIDI & audio types) and so far it has been working like a charm. No delayed or out of sync tracks when IM'ing and using PDC plugins.
