Disappearing GUI in X3
I know I must be missing something, it's usually user error.. I've been using the Nomad Pulteq EQ in X3 on a couple of tracks, and leaving the plug's GUI open so that I can tweak it as I go along. Every time I change screensets, the GUI has disappeared when I return to that screenset, and I have to reopen it. A minor thing, I know - what am I missing? It gets strange - I tried several other plugs as I was writing this, and the same happened, including the GUI of EZdrummer. I restarted Sonar, and now EZdrummer is there when I switch back, but any FX GUI disappears.

I was wondering if you had the plugin docked at the time. If not can you try it docked and see if you get the same result?

Thanks for posting. It seems to happen even if the plug is docked. When I go back the multidock only has the console view in.

It won't save changes if it is.
^^^ This. You start by unlocking the screenset, open your plugins GUI, then lock the screenset again

The behaviour gets odder. I tried again in a different project. I have tried various plugs, both in the FX bin, and in an FX chain module in the PC. The plug in the FX bin remains there when I switch back, but the plug in in the PC is there, but blank - just an empty shell.

Guess it has something to do with my download speeds (here in the fens), but I need to hit pause, and then play, for the video to continue past the first few seconds and then play all the way trough.

Looks like a bug from here. The VST GUIs don't seem to survive changing screensets:(

Hmmm..
I've just tried this in X2 and am getting the same behaviour. I'm pretty sure that it didn't do this before I installed X3. I almost never use the FX bin - I always use the FX chain module in the PC, so I would have thought that I would have noticed this before..

Used to be because of X-Ray on earlier versions. for me I turned off X-Ray and the waves ssl plugins that had the problem work ok now.

@Stevec - was it reported in X3, can you remember? I remember something about the multidock, but this happens if the plug is docked or not.

Thank you, John. It is a minor issue, I can cope with an extra mouse click.  I would just like to know why it is happening now. Dan Gonzalez is being very good and offering suggestions via P.M. I just don't like the idea of something unexplained happening. I only noticed it after installing X3, but that is not to say it didn't appear earlier and I have only just picked up on it. It only affects plugs in the FX chain module, on any project, new or old, sparse or dense. And it seems to be happening in X2 as well. Ho hum.

After watching the video, I was able to repeat this error.
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
