Disciplina Medicina - The Same songs (industrial rock)

https://fanlink.to/TSSEP

https://soundcloud.com/ev...edicina-youre-the-same - one song “You are the same” from EP.

Few days ago we’ve released new EP called “the same songs”. If you like NIN, cabaret Voltaire, m83, IAMX, Ladytron, Nitzer Ebb you should listen to it.

We were working about two years. Was trying to fully make it in Reaper, but then it was a combo of Sonar/iPad/studio one.

"If you like NIN, cabaret Voltaire, m83, IAMX, Ladytron, Nitzer Ebb...."

I literally have no idea who any of those bands are (although I've at least heard the name "m83"), and I didn't like your mix at all, BUT I thought the song was excellent. You should really thicken up the mix because I think you're really onto something with this tune. This song is an example of why I like to keep instrumentation sparse in my own tunes. The more instruments and vocals you have, the more they start masking each other, so you start pulling out mids left and right trying to make everything be heard, but that never works very well. You end up with a skinny sounding mix. I say leave the mids in for the most part, and if some stuff gets masked here and there, so be it. This song is too good not to beef up the lower mids. It's a good tune. Make it roar!

Yeah...  I thought that was really well done.  The song itself and the performances were strong all around.    I do agree with Bill though that the hi-mids come across a bit "crispy" and that additional low-mids might help to balance that and warm it up.  After all, it's a beefy song.
