Disclosure
Not sure if it's "your thing", but I've been going to school on the Pop DJ group Disclosure from both a production and songwriting perspective lately. Two brothers who are absolute experts at their particular instruments and genre, imho. Check out their live YouTube vids if you don't believe me...
So...I'm trying to reproduce the palm mute guitar-like pluck sound in the tune "Masterpiece" (link below). Any ideas on where to start? It's obviously a synth layer...I don't think it's a "real" instrument...but I think it sounds killer. I have Omnisphere FYI.
The plucking starts hard left/right at the 40 second mark. Lemme know if you have any ideas (so I can steal the sound for my next demo....lol)

Thanks!

You should have no problem finding a similar patch in Omnisphere. Look under "plucks".
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
