Divo - instrumental

Based on a couple of piano riffs, I put this together. I guess it may sound like something from a crime television series from the eighties or something. Perhaps a bit monotonous but it was fun to play around a bit.

greetings,

Yeah, does kinda' have a theme-like feel to it, but some nice riffs and good development.  I liked the bass line too.  Nice piece.

Very good. Enjoyed it. All parts were played very nicely. The drums sounded great. I felt they might have been just a little loud.

Phil: Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed this trifle.
chasmcg: Yeah, you're right about the drums. Lowered them a bit. Thnx!

Definitely a cool vibe with a nice pumping groove.  I don't know if I would have made the TV theme connection but after the statement, I could sure envision it.  Nice work and it sounded great on my system.  The guitar part sounded a little loud to my ears and could sit a little better if pulled down just a tad in volume.  But nothing that is a showstopper.

I think you naile it with your description - Starsky and Hutch meets Miami Vice..

I really liked the bass line and how you manage to bring so much in to such a short piece making it sound longer than it really is (in a good way), if that makes sense.

Very cool song!  Great chord changes.  And I like the varying attacks on synth-brass.  Great mix - drum sounds.  Overall nice production.  And then some unexpected but very cool guitar parts near the end.

    Hi Mikael,

Very nice! Really cool chord changes. Excellent bass lines as well.

    Nice production/mix, too.

Where are Hardcastle and McCormick?  Good Stuff, very little I can say about the mix, you know what you are doing.

Great stuff.  Really like the piano parts in which you use as transition between the synth and guitar sections .

Veeery cool.  When I first saw Divo I thought that you just misspelled Devo -- I see my error.  This is a very good number --- I love the timing changes, the chord changes, and the terrific bass.  The drums, bass and rhythm really carry this number along.

BenMMustach: I gues I've seen too many of those TV series. Thanks Ben!
vechung: Thanks Vicente. Glad you liked it!
cwestmount: Thanks. Have check James Newton Howard and friends out.
Freddy J: I always have a problem to name my projects, especially the instrumental ones. This has to be done early when that "save as" window shows up. Thanks for those kind words and to everyone who has listened!

    Mikael,

Cool piano riff and superb bass line adding a fresh wide dimension.  I liked the piece a lot but the synth sound was a bit distracting (not the melody played) because it was too synth sounding and because it was right on top of the piano spacially....but still a very cool song, as all yours are.

Rik: Glad you liked it. Could probably beneifit from a prolongation with a second middle-eight but I didn t have the creativity to come up with any.
No How: The sound of the synth was really my main concern about this piece and probably one of reasons why it sounds 80's. I did look for a more modern sound but I couldn't found any, not at least in those included in Sonar 8.5. I had listened to Omnisphere which is really impressive but since I mainly go for acoustic sounding instruments I see no "excuse" for that kind of expence at this moment. If you or anyone here has a more suitable synth for this piece I'd be more than glad for colaboration.

Thank you guys for input. Payback-feedback in a moment.
