Do I Need To Re-Buy Pentagon?

Hi. I've got Pentagon as part of one of my Sonar versions. However I'd like to use the VST version in Cubase. I found what looked like a VST version stored away in a folder (Pentagon.dll), and moved it in to my VST Plugins folder. But it was not recognized by Cubase or a VST scan. So I assume that wasn't the VST version of Pentagon.

I would hate to spend $80 bucks on Pentagon only to find that the VST version was tucked away somewhere on my drive.

Any ideas?

IIRC, the bundled Pentagony is DXi only.  The VSTi version is supplied with the stand-alone version.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the info, Chris. Guess I'll be leaving Sonar 7 on my machine if for no other reason than to access my DXi copy of Pentagon as part of my study through the Cann book. BTW Pentagon, like all RGC synths, is a quite nice sounding piece of kit. I wonder how many Sonar owners have this synth and have never pulled it up. I hadn't until I got the Cann book. Check it out!

Simon Cann's book entitled "Cakewalk Synthesizers:  From Presets to Power User"
