Do I need The Dim Pro Updates?

Hi All

I have just installed Dim Pro (the one that comes with Sonar 8PE) and
I would like to know if I need to install the updates from Cakewalks website.

I ask because I have previously installed it
from the discs I got when I bought the full version some time ago.

Thanks

Alan

The version in SONAR 8 PE is current unless you plan to run at a high sample rate. If you want to run @ 96kHz or above check out the hot fix posted above.

    Hi asimmd,

With respect to DPro the term "high sampling rates" doesn't mean what people think it means.

"High sampling rates" for DPro and Dimension LE means anything above 44,100 samples/sec. While it is true that the pitch bend problem did not, as far as I recall, exist for 48,000 samples/sec the distortion problem DID exist for anything other than 44,100 samples/sec for version 1.2 of DPro and for LE. This distortion was not as audible for 48,000 but was definitely there.

If you're using 44,100 samples/sec you should be OK. If not, you should consider getting the hotfix or whatever it is that finally shows up that solves the "high sampling rate" problem, unless you like the aliasing-like distortion.

    Regards,
    Dave Clark
