Hey Jeff,

I love it. TBH I mostly use it for the acoustics. Have you upgraded to the latest Rev? I did and the acoustics sound a little better to my ears.

I actually used the sitar on a CHB song (Countdown To Insanity. Imagine; a sitar in a heavy metal song.

Bapu, you can probably find a cheap battery powered temperature/humidy display.  Where I live now, low humidity is only very rarely a problem (like once every 2-3 years), but it was a real issue where I used to live.

For string instruments - violins, basses, etc. - not to mention for real pianos as well - humidity below 40% can be a real problem.  Similarly, real high humidity can also be a problem.

As for curing low humidity, given where I live (apartment), when necessary, I just boil some water.

The first thing though, is to just find out what humidity levels you actually have.  There is no point in buying something for a "problem" that may not need solving.

I'd get one of those 3 in one things..... temperature, humidity and clock  and hang it on the wall.

It will tell you everything you need to know.... then add humidity or remove it as needed.

Another nifty way to humidify your room is to put one of these in there ...

I had one identical to this one next to my fireplace. I stoked the fire one time, leaned the poker up against the stone face, and it slid over and shattered it. Doh!

That looks like a massive mushroom!

Was it good?

I mean the trip, of course!

Hi,

I didn't think that Southern California has that much humidity to be a problem ... the dryness possibly, but I am not sure.

I did recommend on another post that Bapu get an ionizer, which we used in the photo lab ... that's a small unit that you run all the time and what it does is grab all dust particles off the air, and it makes it easier ... you don't have to dust all the time. For a photo lab, at least the old styled ones, this is massive, or your pictures would all have those really small white dots in it! Those usually get touched up by a hand and paintbrush! Digital life has made this stuff much easier, though! But I wonder about the computers and the studio equipment not gathering dust would be a good thing when humidity goes up and down ...
