Do I need to download X1a & X1b patches if I've just downloaded Producer?

I'm having issues loading up Sonar Plus, and I just downloaded the latest Quickfix, which wouldn't install.
I'm currently downloading X1a & X1b patches too, but don't know if they need to be installed as I downloaded Producer on Friday.
Anyone?

For best results install X1a, X1B in that order. Then, If you are having any of the issues listed in the quickfixes install them as well.

Okay, well I just tried to install Producer X1a patch and the message reads:
"Cannot locate the required version of the program on this system. Please install the correct version of the program to use this patch."

So I don't know if this is an issue or not. I would hope that a most recent download would not need patches, but I'm not sure.

    Edit:
Well, Sonar was working fine until (apparently) I tried to install Sonar Plus, which didn't work. I uninstalled Plus and now Sonar crashes. I'm not saying it's  'cause of Plus, but I just tried to load Sonar and it crashed. Was working fine before the Plus install.

samething happened to me last night....... i believe if it says that, you probably already have x1a installed.
at least that's what my situation was last night.

Go to the "Help > About SONAR" menu item in Sonar and see what version you have installed there.

    Well...
I'm now getting a fatal error when I start Sonar.
It loads up, I get the template for what kind of audio/midi I would like, then I get a crash.

    "A fatal error has occurred.
    Module: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk|Sonar X1 Producer\SonarPDR.exe"

Then I get a crash dump.
    Exception Code: c0000005
    Address:...

So...I'm an unhappy camper at the moment.

You probably need to run the patches as Administrator. Right click on the patch file and select Run As Admin. You should be right to go.

Run as administrator did it. I think I'm up and running.
I expect the earlier issue was due to me trying to install Sonar Plus when I hadn't installed the patches, thinking foolishly that the latest download wouldn't need them
I'm still not certain that I did, but they installed.
A bit wary of trying Sonar Plus again now.
    Thanks for the advice.

This was the problem I bet. Sonar Plus has a X1a version and an X1b version. If you tried to install the wrong one at the wrong time I could see it doing that to your system. I would try Plus again. Works great over here.
